Falmouth's oldest coffee shop, de Wynn’s, is to close temporarily while it undergoes its first refurbishment in nine years.
The shop in Church Street is owned by the Eddy family who have hired local interior design company, Rivamiura Interiors, to oversee the transformation. Ben Eddy said: “At a time when large coffee shop chains are expanding rapidly, it’s important we continue to offer an alternative, independent experience.
“We have such a beautiful window and period characteristics. We want to highlight the charm and history of this unique building and Rivamiura Interiors have some fantastic ideas. We hope our customers will loved the changes.”
The Eddys are also working with Helston-based Origin Coffee to develop its range of coffees and train staff.
De Wynn’s will close at the end of trading on Saturday and is due to reopen on February 9.
