UPDATE: A30 Longrock Bypass Westbound re-opened, traffic easing, earlier car fire and recovery work completed between A394 and A30 Eastern Green / Jelbert Way.
There are diversions and traffic trouble on the Longrock bypass this afternoon after a car fire closed the westbound lanes.
The westbound route is closed, with queueing traffic due between the A394 at Newtown roundabout and the A30 at Eastern Green / Jelbert Way (Chy-An-Mor Roundabout).]
There is congestion on A30 to B3309 / Rospeath Lane (Crowlas), that is affecting traffic towards Penzance.
The fire service says that crews from Penzance were called to the car fire at 2.44pm today.
On arrival the car was well alight and crews used breathing apparatus and two hose reels to extinguish the fire. The cause was accidental.
