A serious incident is currently ongoing in Falmouth this evening with emergency services on the scene.
Police cordons have been put up at Gyllyngvase Beach, with the area cleared while the air ambulance landed.

The helicopter landed on a field above the beach and took off around ten minutes ago, just before 7.30pm, although it is not thought it was used.

Witnesses said a person could be seen being carried on a stretcher from the water's edge and transferred into an ambulance.
Their current condition is not yet known.
Police and coastguards are also at the scene, with the beach described as a "no go zone" by the witness.

Another witness said: "A man was pulled from the sea and lifeguards or volunteers applied CPR, called emergency services, who arrived by vehicle and helicopter, taking the person straight to hospital. Police cordoned off beach."
The force incident manager with Devon and Cornwall Police was unable to give specific details about the incident, due to it being ongoing, other than to confirm that emergency services were at the scene.
A statement is expected at some point, but may not be tonight.
