THERE’S something fishy going on this half-term at the Maritime Museum in Falmouth, with a week of activities inspired by fish and |fishing.

The fun kicks off with the Marvellous Marine Life Supersized Weekend on February 15 to 16. Get up close with Cornwall’s marine life with Falmouth Aquarium’s Senior Aquarist, Chloe Kingston.

See, touch and learn about the weird and wonderful creatures you can find locally with Falmouth Aquarium’s live marine encounters.

Visiting the Museum will be Savannah the Spiny Starfish, who at 12 inches is one of the largest species (bigger than your head!), Gary the Grumpy Lobster and a live edible crab, with a few surprises.

There’s also the chance to join in a crustacean animation workshop, where you can make your own |characters come to life in a short film, using ‘stop-motion’ claymation. All of the weekend’s events have been made possible by the kind |support of Francis Clark Chartered Accountants.

And throughout half-term, from February 15 to 23, there are fabulous fishing themed craft activities |happening every day. Get creative and make your own fish mask, |googly eyed lobster or paper plate fish. Plus follow Lilly the lobster’s trail to find all her fishy friends.

On Tuesday, February 18, don’t miss the Free Flying Fish storytelling sessions where you can step into an exciting adventure and become part of an inspiring tale of stormy seas and courageous characters.

And Douglas Dapper, the Story Explorer will be joining in the fun on Thursday, February 20 as he trawls the Museum for more fishy tales, in a brand new adventure.

Go Fish! at the Maritime Museum in Falmouth runs from February 15 to 23 and is free with your museum entrance ticket.
