A LOCAL group has been set up in Pengegon to promote Carnival activities, fun and fitness. Thanks to a grant of nearly £2000, there will be free dance taster sessions including Samba, Burlesque, Flamenco with live guitar, and Bellydancing, all leading up to a Carnival event on March 21.

Sessions are open to all and will run on Wednesdays at Pengegon Institute from 1pm to 3pm, Starting on January 28. There will also be workshops for children and parents during February half-term, so that everyone can get involved in carnival.

‘Kernow Carnival’ presented their proposals in front of local people who were able to vote for their favourite projects. Pengegon Youth Carnival won the most votes and benefited from extra cash towards the project. “It was fantastic to win the vote and with the extra money we can invest in equipment and costume and make sure everyone has the time of their lives” explained Zoe Fox, committee member and volunteer.

If you love to have fun come along, shake your booty and help make Pengegon Carnival a reality.
