FOR those of you who love to eat, drink and be merry there is a new event to look forward to on the counties calendar. The first Porthleven Food & Music Festival will be held on Saturday, April 25 around Porthleven’s scenic harbour.

The festival will be opened by popular TV Chef Antony Worrall Thompson and will consist of numerous food and beverage stalls, cooking demonstrations by local chefs as well as cocktail and barista demonstrations. There will also be a book signing by Antony Worrall Thompson. Alongside the delicious food and drinks on offer there will be many events for the family, including an event at the villages skate park, face painting and a children’s fancy dress competition.

Music will be played over the course of the day from the top of Porthleven’s recently restored historic lime kiln. Porthleven Town Band will open the musical events and bands playing during the day include the amazing Taiko Yamauchikai Drummers. Music and food will continue well into the evening with a barbecue and local bands playing in the main marquee until 9pm. Many local restaurants, pubs and shops will be holding their own special offers and events on the day to make it an event not to be missed.
