THE magnificent Trevarno Estate and Gardens is playing host to a half-term event with a difference. On Wednesday, February 18, children and their families are being invited to a traditional mask-making and face-painting workshop focusing on the theme of spring flowers and insects.

From 10.30am in the Sub-Tropical Fountain Garden Conservatory, parents can bring their little ones to enjoy the educational and inspiring day out, with plenty of hands-on fun and expert guidance. Using a range of materials, youngsters will be able to craft their own unique head-pieces in the form of everything from butterflies and bees to bluebells and daffodils. The fun will then continue outside where families may want to enjoy a game of hide-and-seek around the historic grounds, take a stroll past the Victorian Boating Lake, or visit the reindeer (who have just about recovered from Christmas!). Trevarno is open every day during Half Term from 10.30am to 5pm. Normal entry fees apply. Dog-walkers are more than welcome.
