If you’re looking for a Valentine’s Day with a difference, the Maritime Museum is hosting an evening of chocolate indulgence for singles, groups or couples who don’t really do the slushy Valentine’s thing.
The Museum’s Waterside Café will be serving a seductive selection of chocolate treats, including some things you might not expect - like coffee and cocoa rubbed pork strips; pepper crusted beef with port and chocolate; or chicken in a Mole Poblano sauce, a traditional Mexican dish using dark chocolate and chillies.
Of course those with a sweet tooth will also be catered for with a range of delicious desserts. Imagine digging into a selection of white chocolate truffles, double chocolate brownies or white chocolate mousse in a brandy snap basket. And best of all the menu will be served in a ‘tapas’ style so you get to try a little bit of everything.
The evening will be rounded off in style with the showing of the mouth-watering movie Chocolat, on the Museum’s big screen, starring Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche – so there’s something for everyone!
The Chocolate Lovers’ Night starts at 7pm on Saturday 14 February. Tickets are just £14.95 and can be booked on 01326 214546. Demand is expected to be high so book early to avoid disappointment.
