HELSTON Coffee Company, Origin has its sights set on a hat-trick as four baristas make the final of the a national championship using their coffee.
The 2014 UK Barista Championshipsis a |nationwide search to find the most talented and passionate barista.
The four Origin baristas were among 20 competitors to progress from the regional heats to the final Origin Coffee independently source, roast, and blend award-winning coffee from their base in Helston. Established in 2004, the |company has grown over the last ten years and now |supplies restaurants, hotels, delis and cafes across the UK.
Director, Tom Sobey, pictured said: “We have a really good history of working with baristas, teaching them the ins-and-outs of our coffee and helping them prepare for this competition.
The four finalists: Dan Fellows from The Brewhouse in Porthleven, Alex Passmore from Origin, |Mark Williams from Relish in Wadebridge and Steve Pearson from Coffee Devon in Exeter, all used different blends of Origin Coffee.
Each barista has 15 |minutes to prepare four |identical espressos, four identical cappuccinos and four identical speciality drinks of their own design.
The finals of the UK Barista Championships will be held on April 6 at The London School of Coffee.
The winner will go on to represent the UK in the World Championships.
