The Holloways plan on taking the summery calypso sounds of Generator' on tour this June in their own inimitable style with their Summer Holloways' tour and will be playing at The Acorn Arts Centre in Penzance on Tuesday 05th June.
Inspired by the Cliff Richard film the band have hired a big red double decker bus which will be pulling up at some of the UK's best loved seaside destinations. Instead of the usual tour bus accoutrements of playstations and service station pornography the Summer Holloways tour bus will come fitted with a candy floss machine, a Punch and Judy show and a coconut shy.
The tour is set to coincide with the much anticipated seasonal re-release of Generator'. The single won the band an army of fans upon its first release last year and made its way into many critics end of year polls including NME's top 20 tracks of the year. Generator' will be in stores June 5th .
The Holloways have spent the best part of the last 18 months on the road supporting the likes of Babyshambles and The Kooks as well as their own sold out headline dates. They're currently on tour supporting The Rakes, they're then due to tour supporting CSS through Europe. The band got the idea for their Summer Holloways tour from being on the road. "Its totally selfish on our part" explains Alfie "We just love to be beside the seaside. Whenever we're on the road and near the coast we head for the nearest beach and hit the amusement arcades. We thought it would be fun to do that for a whole tour" .
