The hip-hop and funk fusion of Cantaloop is attracting attention for all the right reasons. And now they are appearing at Sandsifters, Hayle, on Saturday (October 13).
Aside from the inevitable comparisons to Jurassic 5, Cantaloop develop this blue print with layer upon layer of smooth bass grooves and biting lyrical content.
The name of their tour, Brotherhood, is taken from the forthcoming album I.C.H.I.L.E., produced by Gavin Monaghan, and is a gritty blend of acoustic-funk and old skool deck-wrecking.
Vocalist Dannie Dee bursts with social comment and as the horn section kicks in it isn't hard to see why they have been hand picked for support slots with De La Soul, numerous tours with The Fun Lovin' Criminals and even The Blockheads.
The single marks the perfect introduction to the band's new album which will also feature remixes by The Fun Lovin' Criminals.
