FOLLOWING on from last year’s special evening at the Falmouth British Legion in memory of local singer Gerald "Yaegar" Sweet, who passed away just over 12 months ago, his backing group "Pipers Meadow" later becoming "The Sundowners", will be making another one off come back to remember their singer.

Dave Saunby, Terry Pellow and Trevor Hunking, original members of "Yaegars" backing groups, decided to play again, following a chance meeting at a local superstore over Christmas.

Dave said: "We had no plans to do another one, but when we got talking, we thought that it was such a successful gig last time, raising funds for charity, that we decided there and then to give it another "crack".

"Yeagar", was very popular and known locally as the Cornish "Johnny Cash" who sang in many of the pubs and clubs in the Falmouth area. He also sang bass in the Nankersey Male Voice Choir.

The memorial evening is planned for Friday, February 27 at the Falmouth British Legion, when it will be a special open evening and in aid of The Childrens Hospice "Precious Lives Appeal".
