Croydon's favourite bi-polar clown Sue Perkins returns to the Poly in Falmouth (formerly Falmouth Arts Centre) with her second solo show, dealing with the many ways life has fallen short and let us down, featuring all new jokes about sadness, disease and rejection. Plus special appearances from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the Microsoft Paper Clip and a 98-year-old homophobic grandmother.
In the Autumn of 1988, Sue Perkins got onto a stage to perform her first ever stand up routine. She was interrupted, mid flow, by a strange and hunched figure, dressed in a cerise New Romantic boiler suit. This person turned out to be a girl called Mel. For the next 17 years the pair were best know as Mel & Sue.
Sue has appeared in Have I Got News For You, Good Evening Rockall (2 series for BBC3), Movie Babylon (2 series for SkyTV); has written additional material for Ab Fab, and appears regularly on radio shows such as It's Been A Bad Week (Radio2) and Just A Minute (R4). She also presents the 99p Challenge, which has just received a Silver Sony Award for Comedy.
Tickets cost £11.50/£10.00 (concs and members), and are available from the box office on 01326 212 300.
