Madame Lucinda’s Wonder Show is back serving up a captivating slice of the |theatrical.
Rogue Theatre, better known in Cornwall for their theatre adventures in the wild setting of Tehidy Woods, re-animates one of their favourite past shows. Madame Lucinda’s Wonder Show opens at Heartlands, in Pool, this week and runs until February 23.
Artistic director of Rogue, Angelina, describes the preview run as “A rework of a Rogue classic, bringing our recent experience of immersive woodland theatre indoors to create a wild spirited theatrical thrill’”.
Combining spectacle, powerful narrative and physical performance, Madame Lucinda’s Wonder Show tells the stories of three souls who sign up to run away with the travelling circus.
Sirus, formerly Mr Johnson, the frustrated office clerk and master magician; LoLo,the|circus orphan, whose father was killed a flying pig, who now lives a life cursed with comedy; and Svetlana the dancing doll, destined to live a half-life with a broken heart trapped inside her wooden bones.
Marvel at the exquisite heartache, the torturous |hilarity and breath-taking magic. Get lost in the thrilling world of spectacle and the macabre, and wake up with fresh eyes.
The show features live music performed by the original musical director, Ben Sutcliffe, combined with poetry and text by Annamaria Murphy (Kneehigh Theatre’s Trystan and Yseult and Red Shoes).

The show runs at Heartlands in Pool every day until February, 23. There are |performances at 2.30pm and 7.30pm, tickets are priced £7.50.
