HAWKWIND.

Since the release of the single Silver Machine in 1972 they've never gone away; touring and releasing records regularly for the last 38 years, with the ever-present Dave Brock still at the helm. Their music began as hard-driving blues rock, but quickly added doses of psychedelic rock, with prominent use of effects and synthesizers. The current live shows are based on the new album, Take Me to Your Future, and prove to be highly spectacular and very visually stimulating performances that include choreographed dancers, specially arranged lighting and many, many surprises.This is one not to be missedthe first Hawkwind gig in Cornwall for a good few years!

THE BUCKET BOYS.

If you like your music anywhere between the Blues, The Beatles, Tin Pan Alley and New Orleans then these fellers are for you. Tim Renwick and Willie Wilson were both members of Quiver, later to join forces with the Sutherland Brothers, recording the hit single, Lying In The Arms Of Mary. They both went on to play with Pink Floyd at different stages. Steve Turner's guitar work can be heard on the late Kirsty McColl albums and Rick Worthy has done TV and Theatre work alongside his excellent musicianship. Founding members Donald "Tabby" Shaw, Fitzroy "Bunny" Simpson and Lloyd " Judge" Ferguson have remained together for over thirty years; producing over 40 albums and touring the world extensively. A founder member of Free, he played on every record until their demise, when he left with Paul Rogers to form Bad Company. This is a Songs & Stories' show from his times with Free and Bad Co. as well as new material penned by himself and Larry Oakes, one-time guitarist of Foreigner, now playing with Simon.

His new single Gods Highway' from his recent Somewhere in the City' CD is getting a lot of airplay already, and it's not out until mid-January.

SON OF DAVE.

He creates a mountain of Rhythm and Blues unlike anything heard before and is steadily becoming renowned for a sound completely his own. The sound starts with Harmonica, is joined by Human Beat-Box grooves, and completed by a haunting voice. A member of Crash Test Dummies for twelve years; currently records and performs with Martina Topley Bird (formerly of Tricky); has performed with Neil Young and Spinal Tap and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. KEVIN AYERS.

One of rock's more important innovators, launching Soft Machine in 1966. Later performing as a solo artist, working musicians like Mike Oldfield, Lol Coxhill, Steve Hillage, Zoot Money, Brian Eno and John Cale. He's released a number of albums with a distinctly British sensibility, making ordinary lyrical subjects seem extraordinary with his rich low vocals, inventive wordplay, and bemused, relaxed attitude. This singer/songwriter inspires the image of a sort of rock dandy beach bum, writing about life's absurdities with a celebratory, relaxed detachment.

IAIN MATTHEWS.

Iain joined Fairport Convention for their first single and their first two albums and their second album, What We Did On Our Holidays, widely considered their best, includes Matthews' Book Song. His first solo project, the country-tinged Matthews' Southern Comfort, covered a Joni Mitchell's song, Woodstock, reaching No1 on the British charts. He's continued since via the acclaimed Plainsong and a number of great solo records. This show is one of only five UK gigs on this tour, and promises to be a very special evening.

CLIVE PALMER & LAWSON DANDO.

Featuring Clive Palmer and Lawson Dando latterly of The Incredible String Band. These shows concentrate largely on COB material with some of Clive's solo songs, and some ISB material. Lauded and critically acclaimed for the last 35+ years, Clive has more recently been acknowledged as one of the godfathers' of new folk/ wyrd folk, receiving plaudits and offers of tours from Devendra Banhart, Six Organs of Admittance & Joanna Newsome amongst others. The shows follow up on the re-release of COB's seminal album Moyshe McStiff' now re-mastered and expanded.

An annual favourite eagerly awaited by fun loving Panto fans of all ages. Presenting another classic tale when Alice falls down the rabbit hole into Wonderland with all the animals including; the White Rabbit, the smoking Caterpillar, the wicked Duchess and the Cheshire Cat; she attends the Mad Hatter's Tea Party and the Queen of Hearts' Garden Party. With a cast of over 50 including 18 children, this panto is full of songs, dancing and fun, with very colourful scenes and costumes. A real family treat, and as always raising funds for local charities.

A Mike and Jane Stevenson production. WHY THE WHALES CAME.

An innovative production of Michael Morpurgo's much loved story of Grace and Daniel and their adventures on the Isles of Scilly before and during the 1st World War. The children befriend a mysterious old man, called The Birdman. It turns out that the old man knows a terrible secret about the island and its ghosts, but more especially about the narwhales which sometimes come into the shore. Also made into a popular film, the play has been adapted from the book by Greg Banks and was commissioned by Theatre Alibi.
