Fans of the hot jazz sounds of the celebrated Cotton Club of the 1920s and '30s should definitely step on to Hall for Cornwall on Thursday, October 4.
The Cotton Club Revue with Harry Strutters Hot Rhythm Orchestra featuring the Jiving Lindy Hoppers and Tony Jacobs will supply an unforgettable night of music from the golden age of jazz.
The action-packed show celebrates the music, dance and songs of the Cotton Club, the famous nightclub which flourished in New York's Harlem in the 1920s and 1930s.
All the top performers of the jazz age appeared at the Cotton Club, including Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, Ethel Waters, Lena Horne, Bojangles Robinson and the Nicholas Brothers.
In this show, the exciting dance routines are recreated by the fabulous Jiving Lindy Hoppers, now surely the world's premier jazz dance company.
Harry Strutters Hot Rhythm Orchestra displays its collective capacity to communicate the exuberance of the music of that era, and star vocalist Tony Jacobs pays his unique tribute to the great singers who appeared at the club.
The performance starts at 8pm and tickets are £15 and £13 with concessions priced £12.50 and £10.50. There is a 75p Theatre Fund payment on each ticket sold. Contact the Box Office on 01872 262466.
