COULD someone explain who on the council decided in their wisdom to divert the Harmony Choir down to the Church Street car park instead of allowing the age old tradition of singing through the whole of Falmouth main street, as we have always done? Is this the start of getting the choir off the street entirely in the future years in the name of health and safety?
This event is well publicised and the road closed off accordingly for the choir and supporters for this short time to allow the choir to go through and raise money for various charities. So what is the problem?
As I understand it from one of the committee members of the Harmony Choir, they were given the ultimatum by the council of diverting down to the car park or having the whole event being called off. It stinks!
I was one of the choir members who refused to be herded down to the car park like cattle and waited up by the Nat West Bank to resume the walk through the street.
This is health and safety gone mad.
