I WAS surprised to read the response by Heather Kay regarding the 4x mountain bike event.

Unfortunately she is unaware of all the facts. This track was built in an area of outstanding natural beauty without planning permission and without any consideration for the disruption to people who live close by with lack of privacy and noise.

This event is not a one off and it is planned that the track will be used at least every Sunday and probably more if recent weeks are anything to go by.

On the event day the noise was unbearable inside the house as well as in the garden and there was a total lack of privacy not just on the day but the whole weekend.

People need to ask the question how the landowner who is a county councillor and on Falmouth's town planning committee can allow change of usage of his land from agricultural to commercial leisure, which included engineering works, without knowing he needed full planning permission.

I fully support the need for young people to take part in outdoor activities but in the right place and with the correct procedures to take into account both planning laws and the rights of neighbours.
