BERKELEY Cottages will be a 100 years old this year, as they were built in November 1913. My father helped to build them bringing sand for the cement from Gyllyngvase Beach in a horse and cart.
There are 44 cottages and he was the third tenant to have one when built, which was number 25.
I was born in this house 77 years ago and lived here all my life.
There is a plaque on the end wall of number 1 which Councillor C S Goldman MP and Alderman A W Chard JP and Mayor laid at that time.
