YOUR anonymous correspondent asks for Radio Cornwall to return to its traditional values, but since it was only established in 1983, that tradition does not extend back very far.
Presumably the station's brief is to provide a service for all residents of the county, not just those that were born here.
My wife and I are of non-Cornish origin and have lived in the county for over 20 years now. Like most if not all of the in-migrants to Cornwall, we respect the people and traditions of the county, but feel hurt when the likes of your nameless correspondent refer to our origins in derogatory terms.
I imagine that your Cousin Jacks living abroad in the USA, Australia and Canada do not have to put up with the hurtful references to their origins that we from "Across the Tamar" have experienced from many of your recent correspondents.
Radio Cornwall is an excellent station, comparing very favourably with other local radio stations across the country. It offers a much appreciated service for all of us who live here, not just the bigoted few.
Derek Pullen, Mary's Well, Illogan Stop knocking Radio Cornwall. It's one of the best local radio stations I've ever listened to. I was born and bred in Cornwall and I can't find any fault with it.
