I can appreciate that, through bad management, Royal Cornwall Hospital Treliske has to save money anywhere possible but, to remove the services of the police, in this day and age, is unacceptable. However, as a former sergeant in the special constabulary, with quite a number of specials under my command back in the mid 60's to mid 70's, had this been a problem then, I am fairly sure - due to the keenness of my team - I would have been able to have given Treliske hospital quite an extensive police coverage due to the fact that many of the team worked shifts. And all this would not have cost them a penny - or, at the most, a cup of tea now and then. Of course, back then, I doubt whether police presence would have even been necessary.
