I WOULD like to complain about students and or lecturers parking along the already heavily used Treliever Road in Mabe Burnthouse.
The worse section is that which joins the Treliever roundabout. As a resident of this road, we already have to suffer large volumes of traffic including buses and large lorries from nearby works thundering past our doors all day and now find we are becoming a car park for the campus. The cars, of which there are at least 10-15 daily, line the already narrow road making passing quite awkward at times.
I have contacted the campus who inform me that it's a government policy which restricts the amount of vehicles allowed to park on the campus in order to encourage people to catch the bus! I then contacted the Highways Agency who passed me onto Cornwall county council, both without any joy., They told me to contact my local police station - their response was to say that because there were no parking restrictions they couldn't help in this matter.
Surely something could be done to rid us of this problem and find alternative safe parking nearby - and not just dump their cars on our road and cause us problems? Perhaps the Packet could look into our plight and come to our rescue?
