MAY I through the medium of your newspaper respond to the unbelievable letter you printed by "God help us all", a member of Respect and UKIP, completely annihilating any goodwill and respect towards the wonderful Tremough Campus and all students and staff alike.
Now we have a face to the name - Diana Merrett - so please print it. Respect - to show consideration, esteem to all!
Falmouth town does not belong to Falmothians, Cornishmen/women, or anyone. Yes, you can have a selected interest and fondness by way of birthright, but you cannot own its very breath. Which incidentally, if left to this woman, would be the breath of a dying woman!
I speak for the majority of people in Falmouth, and we welcome all students and thank them for the contribution and youthfulness, now part of our town, let alone their financial input both in accommodation and retail outlets.
I am sure there are a few select students hell-bent on living the "student life" albeit drink and drugs. However, may I suggest Diana Merrett looks in the pubs during the day and ponder among the locals frequenting these places at the cost of the taxpayer, spending benefits and exacerbating an already significant drug and mental health problem in Falmouth!
The students attending Tremough want a future and to contribute to the economy as well as personal success. You ask one of the local thieves/drunks what they want to contribute, and that is to get as many handouts and housing benefit they can so they don't have to do sod all!
Elections are coming. May I implore the people of Falmouth not to vote for UKIP's Diana Merrett. The only thing the people of Falmouth are fed up with is this batty old dear!
