AFTER reading the letters page last week, I found Mr Saunby's letter made a lot of sense. Mr Saunby is a Falmouth man who fights his corner on behalf of himself and many others. He has campaigned tirelessly on many local issues such as the relocation of the post office, Save the Rec campaign and the seafront and I for one have to thank him for his efforts.

The main point I found in his letter was the fact that the Lib Dems are so obsessed with keeping control of Falmouth town and district councils that they have brought in outsiders to stand in the forthcoming elections, namely Mr Muir from Truro and Mr Hollingsworth from Budock. Are these the same Lib Dems who told us at the county elections that the people of Falmouth should vote for Falmouth candidates and not for Ms Ferret, Labour candidate, who lived in Illogan? "How can anyone who does not live in Falmouth have any idea of what Falmouth needs," they said.

Surely this is hypocritical telling us one thing and doing another. Perhaps this just shows that the Lib Dems will go to any length to keep control. All I can say is you can't have it both ways, keep Falmouth people in Falmouth seats.
