WITH reference to the letter last week from Jay Westley, the disturbance she witnessed was unlikely to have been university degree students as the majority did not start the new year until October.
I have lived in Budock Terrace for a few years now with students living next door and nearby and have never had cause to complain. I have found them to be polite and friendly. Let us remember that these youngsters have worked hard to obtain good exam results to be able to study at degree level and we should welcome them into our community.
My own children, who have grown up in Cornwall, have studied at universities in other counties and I would have been appalled if they had been subjected to the abuse that is aimed at those who come to Falmouth. I am sorry to say that most of the vandalism in this town is from a few of our local youngsters.
