I SOMETIMES wonder when the making of money out of "anything and everything" is going to stop. The latest fiasco, of course, is the debate on whether the captured sailors should be allowed to make money out of their stories.

As an ex-serviceman myself we were told that we were being paid for 24-hours a day and were, effectively, on duty for the same period - end of story. We were also told, if captured, to just give name, number and rank and nothing else. We most certainly would not have expected to be paid for something for which we already received payment. If there's plenty of money floating around, let's bail out the hospitals I say.
