This Saturday, April 28, Friends of the Earth, Transition Falmouth and other concerned people will be in the town centre to highlight the face that Falmouth is clogged all day with cars and vans.

We are looking for more signatures to support the case for pedestrianisation and we are supporting the initiative of the town centre forum to place a rising bollard at the Church Street crossroads. This will help enforce the current traffic order that eliminates casual traffic through the main streets from 11am - 4pm.

A rising bollard is a good step in the right direction, and we are committed to making something effective happen this summer.

We need to show our elected councils that we want to see sustainable street management in Falmouth's busy and productive shopping areas - there's much evidence from around the country that pedestrian areas are economically vibrant, plus there are new government guidelines to support pedestrian friendly environments.

Together we can achieve the improvements that Falmouth has long been wanting, and catch up with the best of the rest of Britain.

Come and see us on Saturday - we'll be in a little pedestrian zone between the entrance and the exit of Church St car park between 11am and 2pm!
