THANK you to all your readers who contacted me about the Edward II coronation mug (Letters, April 4).
Several wrote saying they had identical mugs which were passed down through their families, including a Plymouth gentleman whose was inherited from his brother.
A gentleman from Mawnan Smith believes his father received his as a pupil at Budock School and another from Falmouth had a mug kept in a sideboard for 50 years. Other readers had purchased theirs, including a gentleman from Budock, who bought a mug for its obvious local interest. Chris Spencer, of Roadshow Antiques, wrote to say he had seen a few of these mugs and thinks they are quite rare. Chris believes they were commissioned by Budock parish council for local people.
I was delighted to find out more and I will treasure mine as a reminder of the places I loved during my childhood.
