MAY I thank the Packet for the report printed last week about my retirement from Turton's Pharmacy and for the very complimentary letter from one of our satisfied customers. May I also, through your column, thank the many people who gave us cards and gifts.
It has been a pleasure and an honour to work in Penryn. Our customers have been genuinely nice people, who have appreciated our efforts to help them and have supported us by the continued patronage.
Penryn is going through a period of change, not all of which we may like. Some things just have to happen and others happen because not enough people object to them. When the changes are completed and after the dust settles, Penryn will still be a lovely town with lots of lovely people; but it will be different!
May we wish "good health" to all who inhabit this brave new world.
