WAY back in July I wrote to the newly appointed minister for the SouthWest, Ben Bradshow, requesting that the dualing of the A30 at Carland-Chiverton and Temple be made a priority now that the Goss Moor was complete.
Guess what? I have just received a reply but not from him. It has come from Ian Parsons, the local network manager of the Highways Agency. His reply went to great lengths to tell me what I, and everybody else, already knew, ie that the schemes had been postponed until at least 2015 by one of the government's least popular quangos, the South West regional assembly.
I am extremely disappointed and saddened by the fact that the Labour minister did not reply personally but just passed the buck.
Mr Des Mennear, Tregony (Lib Dem county and district councillor)
