STEPHEN Otter, our chief constable, is right to target the drug dealers peddling their filthy trade into Cornwall, primarily he says (and I won't disagree with him) from London, Liverpool and Manchester.
Until proper punishment fits the crime, instead of slapped wrists, ASBOs and community service orders, etc, the problem will, I'm sorry to say, get worse. I don't advocate stringing them up like they do in Muslim countries like Iran but at least surely we can punish these peddlers of misery with severe penalties so they won't do it again. Another way is to name and shame them, publish their photographs, addresses, etc, and isolate them. The do-gooders with their human rights agendas should quite bluntly "get stuffed."
I wish the chief constable well and hope he succeeds in his endeavours because most of those down here in Cornwall, particularly in hot-spots such as Newquay, Penzance and latterly Camborne, are from up-country and certainly not Cornish. Personally I would round them all up and send them back to where they came from. None of them work, they live off hard working people and because their roots are not here they treat the area with contempt and vandalise, urinate and desecrate even graveyards such as in Camborne! It makes my blood boil!
