IT would be interesting to know just what the office of race relations in Cornwall is actually supposed to be doing.
We gather that it is run by a Ginny Harrison-White who, no doubt, is getting a fat salary (paid for by council tax payers) for doing (in my opinion) nothing of any use. Oh, she recently branded an Irish Catholic a racist for (wait for it) telling Irish jokes!
A shopkeeper was also reprimanded for telling a joke about an Essex girl.
All this silly nonsense only serves to erode our way of life, our culture and our freedom of speech which, maybe, is what this government wants by all this obsession over racism.
Ginny Harrison-White says she works with the "travelling community" and given the performance with these people at Treluswell recently, when they had to be practically evicted at a cost of thousands of pounds with a massive clean-up operation (paid for by council tax payers again), there seems to be little point in a liaison officer who says the travellers could be offended by an Irish joke, but it seems, has no influence to move them on when they offend the rest of society. I wonder if Ginny has a car - would that be also subsidised by the council tax payers? What mugs we are. Anyone with a genuine complaint can go to the police, so why do we need another useless layer of bureaucracy with a humourless minion in charge?
PS Have you had a look around the back of Asda lately? Déjà vu, I fear.
