PERHAPS this tight-fisted lot are cutting subsidies to save cash somewhere along the line!
The Lib Dem MP for Falmouth-Camborne, Julia Goldsworthy, once said council tax is unfair because it's not based on people's ability to pay. I wrote telling her it is, but water charges are not. I received no reply about their local income tax alternative and none from their former leader, Charles Kennedy.
Lib Deb councillors in Islington, North London, said: "Meals-on-wheels for pensioners are to be axed because traditional British lunches are outdated!" They will be offered frozen curries, Chinese food and pizzas, instead of hot lunches, ie roasts, pork chops and cottage pies. I wouldn't feed this awful choice to the pigs, let alone pensioners, who need adequate nourishing food, which they pay their share for anyway.
This bunch are worse than the loony left. I wouldn't vote for them, they really scare me. I pity the elderly. I cook my Sunday roast and have done so for eight years since my wife died. I am 76, so no "pub meals" either.
