IN desperation I am writing to your paper in the hope that the officers concerned will at last help me regarding the very overgrown state of three huge trees which cut out light from my home and garden. Two are Sycamore and the other one I really don't know what it is! It drips stickiness.

From the Sycamores, I am inundated with seeds which when the ground is wet are a real hazard, causing slippiness, then the pods come down in their thousands and you can well imagine the amount of leaf fall I have to contend with from these three big trees. I try to create an area of beauty in my small garden, but it is very difficult. I contacted the council - not their department? Then the roads and trees department! They sent a Mr Simon Procter who assured me he could understand the problem. He sent a man who cut off one branch!

If the trees in the town can be reduced, why not others like mine? I cannot understand why they neglect to do so. The seeds from the Sycamores are a real hazard when the ground is wet. If someone fell I would be responsible as it is on my property. I hope this letter will reach the right ears.
