Some years after the second bus shelter was proposed for outside the library, one has at last appeared. So with miracles obviously in the air, could it be there is also planned a cure for the problem of the Lower Killigrew car park?
With cars clogging both sides of the road, the enclosed snapshot was taken at 10.51am on Friday July 28 at the start of an interesting and, judging by the reaction of some passers-by, an amusing interlude. At about 11.09, with the then appearance of a traffic warden, ably assisted by available and willing muscle, managed to move the offending vehicle which was jumped up onto the pavement, so allowing the bus to squeeze through, bringing relief to driver, passengers, and those caught up in the inevitable tailback which had developed. It is truly amazing that anyone should have even contemplated the possibility of two-way traffic for Market Street when they cannot cope with unnecessary situations involving one-way traffic movement elsewhere.
