WALTER (Wally) George AFC. – Following a long illness, Wally died peacefully at home on 9th July 2013. He was 90 years of age. Formerly of Plymouth, he lived throughout the UK whilst serving as an RAF pilot and instructor within Bomber Command. Upon retirement he joined HM Revenue & Customs. He then relocated to Cornwall where he loved living in Flushing. He leaves behind Judy, his partner of more than 30 years, who nursed and supported him throughout this difficult period. Also, Frank his devoted twin brother and his son Ian, who used to entertain him with stories of motorbike touring. He was both the proud father of Deidre and Susan and the grandfather of Sarah and Clare. He would also relish the company of the four great-grandchildren, that he shared with Judy. Funeral details can be obtained from Penryn and Falmouth Funeral Directors, (01326) 376926. The family would appreciate if any donations could be directed to either RAF Benevolent Fund or Macmillan Nurses. We trust that he and his Vulcan are now soaring across the skies before turning to the stars.
