Trevor and Roger BARTLETT
BARTLETT Trevor and Roger Two brothers who grew up in Falmouth died two days apart. Trevor Bartlett age 72, was born 26th June 1951 in Redruth and died 24th September in Brighton. Roger Bartlett age 77, was born 22nd December 1945 in Falmouth and died 26th September in Tenerife, Canary Islands. Both attended Trescobeas County Secondary School. Trevor, after a brief foray in mercantile banking, attended teacher training college in Chalfont St. Giles. After qualifying, he had a successful career teaching and as a headteacher at several primary schools in London. He later became an inspector for the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills. Retiring early, he and his partner holidayed on Spain's Costa Blanca, and also travelled widely. Roger became a plumber and is also remembered for serving as a club steward at Penryn Rugby Club. He married Phyllis Cleverly in 1968. They eventually established a home in East Grinsted, London. Both worked for British Telecom, Roger as a cable jointer. They holidayed in Tenerife. In the late 1990's they retired to the Canary Islands. Trevor died 24th September in a hospice after a long struggle with cancer. Several years ago, Roger fell at home, was hospitalized and remained in-care until his death on 26th September. Although both left Falmouth many years ago, they still fondly remembered the family home on Meadowbank Road and their Cornish heritage. They are survived by Qi Wen in Brighton, brothers: Keith in Par, Peter (Lee Ann) in Michigan, USA, Nigel (Agnieszka) in Plymouth and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
