STURGES Walter Alfred It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Walter Alfred Sturges on 15th December 2023, aged 98, at The Elms Care Centre in Saltash. Walter was formerly a resident of Marlborough Road, Falmouth and later resided at Quarry Court, Quarry Hill. He was born in Berkhamstead, Herts. During World War II, Walter served in 582 Squadron of the Pathfinders. Post-war, he contributed significantly to the early development of the Goonhilly Satellite Station in Helston, playing a vital role during its formative stages. Walter leaves behind a legacy cherished by his two daughters, Helen and Claire and is mourned deeply by all members of his extended family. His kindness, wisdom and enduring love will be greatly missed, but forever remembered by those whose lives he touched.
