NORMAN Tom A much-loved husband to Betty (deceased), father to Susan, James, Philip and Caroline, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and colleague, passed away peacefully at Crossroads House in Scorrier, Redruth, on Thursday 22 August, aged 95. Tom joined the Royal Navy as a boy seaman in 1944 at the age of 15 and went on to become a Chief Petty Officer Clearance Diver. He then spent several years working in the commercial diving industry before moving to Falmouth in the early 80s, when he joined Prodive in Falmouth Dockyard as a commercial diving instructor. Tom was a member of the Radio Society of Great Britain and enjoyed making contact with other radio hams around the world on his radio and using Morse code. He also enjoyed sailing his Enterprise dingy around Falmouth. He will be greatly missed and forever respected by all who knew him. A funeral service will be held at Penmount Crematorium on Monday 16 September at 1:00 PM. Family flowers only, please, but donations in lieu to Dementia UK or the MND Association would be gratefully received, either at the funeral or made directly to the charities. Please direct any enquiries to Colin Matthews Funeral Directors, Camborne Business Centre, College Street, Camborne. Tel: 01209 717772.
