Cornish cops forced out under a regulation that allowed forces to retire officers on the grounds of efficiency are to sue.

A tribunal will hear cases related to the use of regulation A19, which makes officers who have served 30 years or more retire. Police officers cannot be made redundant.

The test cases brought by Cornwall Police Federation are understood to be seeking compensation for unfair dismissal.

The tribunal is due to take place in Croydon on 11 February.
