A memorial flower tub in tribute to a Mawnan Smith stalwart has been unveiled at the village’s pre-school.
Rosemary Curtis died in the run-up to Christmas following medical complications on a “cruise of a lifetime” to mark her 70th birthday.
She had been at the heart of Mawnan village life, working with generations of children both as a lunchtime supervisor at the primary school and a founder member of Mawnan Pre-School.
Now - in tribute to Rosemary - Jane Rogers from Carwinion House and Garden has donated a sensory tub to the village’s pre-school for future generations to enjoy.
Kate Shaw, from the pre-school, said: “It includes a beautiful Rose called Happy Days and Rosemary in remembrance of Rosemary, who was a valued member of the community.
“The Pre-School kindly thanks Mrs Rogers and the tub will be looked after by generations of children to come.”
Sensory tubs are designed to encourage young children to explore nature through the use of their senses, such as sight, smell and touch.
