GYLLYNGDUNE Gardens in Falmouth is looking for someone who is creative and inspirational to succeed John Dyer as their artist in residence.
The Falmouth based artist was the first person to take on the role at the gardens following the site’s restoration carried out thanks to a £2.3 million grant from the Heritage Lottery’s Parks for People scheme.
The appointment of John as artist in residence proved a great success, so with his year nearing an end, staff at the gardens are looking for his replacement and inviting anyone interested to get in touch.
Sarah Spiegler-Williams, Gyllyngdune’s visitor and education officer, said: “It was wonderful to have John capture the garden and historic bandstand in his instantly recognisable style and it have us a platform to show off the gardens in a new way to new audiences.
The second year in residency will run from April. No stipend is offered, but there is a budget for materials and benefits.
For more information, potential candidates should contact Ms Spiegler-Williams by emailing gardens@carrickleisure.org.uk.
