The weekend is upon us, and here at thepacket.co.uk it is time for a look back at the news you may have missed that has been making the headlines.
First up is the shock news that the Falmouth Beach Hotel site has gone on the open market. The popular hotel burnt to the ground last April, and the news the site is up for grabs with planning permission has raised a question mark over whether another hotel will ever rise from the ashes.

The other big news this week was the snowfall that dusted Cornwall on Monday. While it melted fast, there was at least a quick chance for people to enjoy the beauty of a snow covered Cornwall, and even build a snowman or chuck a snow ball.

The deadline for a decision on the controversial falmouth wharves plan is fast approaching, and ahead of the vote protestors are calling for it to be refused.

Next up is a story about how an iconic Falmouth town centre coffee shop and restuarant is closing its doors. But don't worry, Wynn's is just having a refresh and refurbishment before welcoming customers through the doors again soon.

Next up, buses. One Penryn pensioner fed up with the “lamentably poor” bus service to Truro on a weekday morning is calling for a change.
Finally, Helston town council, which has not exeactly covered itself in glory over recent times, has back tracked on plans to use cash from the sale of an historic building for a replacement community centre.
