BALWEST METHODIST CHURCH: Morning worship on Sunday was led by Donald Hearn. Flowers were given and arranged by Marjorie Pascoe, accompanist was Christine Cumber and the collection was taken by Joel Boston.
Chapel secretary, Steve Allen, presented Peter and Christine Cumber, who are shortly leaving the area, with a small thank you gift in appreciation for their support over the past five-and-a-half years.
After the service the congregation gathered in the Sunday schoolroom for a warm lunch prepared by church members.
ASHTON CHURCH: The celebrant at the service of holy communion to celebrate the feast of the conversion of Paul was the Rev Sharon Chalcraft. Bevan Osborne read the epistle and the gospel was read by the Rev Sharon.
On February 1 there will be a service of holy communion at 9.30am. The celebrant will be Canon Michael.
On Sunday, February 10 there will be an hour of taize at 6pm. the service will be candlelit and there will be a choir to lead the service. All are welcome.
