METHODISTS: The service on Sunday was conducted by Catherine King from Heamoor. Catherine is a preacher under training and her sermon was most enlightening and all enjoyed the well-known hymns she had chosen, accompanied by organist Mavis Harper.

PRIMARY SCHOOL: This half-term Emerald class is thinking about hot and cold, traditional tales and growing plants. In the role play area there is a doctor’s surgery and it is hoped there will be a visit from a doctor or nurse.

Diamond class is continuing their fire theme and will be using a selection of dragon stories to inspire their fantasy writing, design technology and art. In geography, Chinese dragons will be a starting point for learning about different countries and cultures.

Sapphire class will be concluding their theme of space by making space vehicles in design technology. In literacy they will be writing explanations and poetry, whilst in science the pupils are investigating gases all around them.

Zircon class are continuing their space topic by investigating the recent Mars landing. In literacy they are studying poetry and then will move on to debates and arguments centred around graffiti, linking to an art project.

Three teams of gymnasts were celebrating last week after competing in the KS2 Lizard primary schools Key Steps Gym Competition. There was individual success in the non-club category with year six children: Louis, Rachael and Lucy coming first, second and third and along with Lydon made up the winning non-club team. Godolphin B finished as runners-up. The talented team of gymnasts completed the medal haul with a highly respectable third position.
