A Former mace bearer and Penryn town councillor, Barclay Churcher, has died.
Mr Churcher, aged 76, stepped down from his ceremonial mace bearing duties in 2007 and was featured in the Packet last year celebrating 50 years of marriage with his wife, Joy.
He had suffered a stroke in 2011 and donations were made to the Phoenix Stroke Appeal at their golden wedding anniversary, in lieu of gifts.
In a statement, Penryn Town Council paid tribute to Mr Churcher, adding: “Our condolences go out to his friends and family.”
