The Secretary of State for Transport will arrive in Falmouth tomorrow to meet RNLI crews and visit the Coastguard centre.
Patrick McLoughlin MP will visit the Falmouth Royal National Lifeboat Institute to meet with staff and volunteers, before visiting the Falmouth Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre to meet with coastguards and watch a presentation about the work of the Marine Coastguard Agency in Cornwall.
Mr McLoughlin will also attend a meeting at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall to discuss the Great Western Rail franchise. Representatives from First Great Western, Cornwall Council, the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership, local MPs and the Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership will also be present.
A subsequent meeting with representatives from Cornwall Council and the Isles of Scilly Council will take place to discuss transport links to the islands.
