The warden of an island in the Bristol Channel is calling on Packet readers with a flair for photography to enter their annual photo competition.
Lundy Island’s underwater photography competition "Splash In!" will be held on Saturday June 29 this year.
The waters surrounding the island boast a variety of fascinating marine life including the playful resident grey seals and colourful cup corals.
This year’s categories include:
- Mega to Macro: close-up portraits of marine species
- Marine Ambience: portraying Lundy's Marine Conseravtion Zone and its spectacular underwater scenery
- Marine Abstract: (down to your imagination)
The entry fee of £20 includes free overnight camping with entertainment provided by well known local band The Dam-Buskers.
Prizes for the competition will be given out on the Saturday evening after the winners are chosen by an impartial panel of three judges.
A slideshow of all the images will be shown in the Marisco Tavern.
To enter the competition email warden@lundyisland.co.uk for a pre-registration form as places are limited.
