A public meeting, when Falmouth School’s plans to transform the former Budock Hospital site into a new sports pitch will come under scrutiny, is to be held this afternoon (May 16).

The school has revealed its ambition to create an all-weather, floodlit pitch with new changing pavilion and car parking which would be made available for use by the wider community out of school hours.

To fund the project, the school plans to sell off its sports fields at Union Corner, which have been made virtually redundant because of the dangers posed to students crossing the increasingly busy road.

Tomorrow’s public meeting will be held in the school hall at 4.30pm. Anyone unable to attend who wishes to comment on the scheme should write to head teacher, Sandra Critchley at the school, or email enquiries@falmouthschool.net.
