A series of police raids across Cornwall and Devon have seen nine people arrested.
The arrests on suspicion of possessing images of child sexual abuse followed raids on homes, with computers and other digital storage media seized by officers.
The arrests, which are reported to be not linked to each other follow intelligence from police forces outside the counties, as well as from the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP).
Two of the men are from Cornwall.
Detective Inspector Simon Snell said 17 computers alongside USB sticks, DVDs and CDs were seized and that suspects have been bailed "pending forensic computer examinations.”
